The City of Batavia is accepting applications for its downtown Façade Improvement Program on an ongoing basis. Submit your complete applications (PDF) to the Community Development Department in Batavia City Hall, 100 North Island Avenue.
Batavia established the Façade Improvement Program in 1996 to enhance the overall appearance and image of Batavia’s Central Business District. The program has been an annual opportunity for owners of property and businesses located in Batavia’s Tax Increment Finance Districts and the city’s Downtown Historic District to request and be considered for receipt of a matching grant for improvements to the exterior of buildings and properties.
Since its inception the Façade Improvement Program has resulted in a significant amount of private investment in the downtown, and maintains significant support from businesses, property owners and others involved in the betterment of downtown Batavia. Batavia MainStreet has been a partner in the program for several years.
The Facade Improvement Program was updated for 2013, by approval of Resolution 13-49-R (PDF) on March 18, 2013. You may contact the City of Batavia's Economic Development Department at 630-454-2061 or Batavia MainStreet Director Jamie Saam at 630-761-3528 for information and assistance.
