Garbage, Recycling, Yard Waste & Brush Collection

Information regarding upcoming changes

The City of Batavia’s existing refuse and recycling collection contract with Waste Management expires June 30. A number of changes have been proposed for the new contract; however, until June 30 the current refuse and recycling program remains in place and stickers are still valid.

Batavia’s City Council discussed potential changes to the refuse and recycling program at their Jan. 10 Committee of the Whole meeting. The meeting included a presentation from the Batavia Environmental Commission.

The BATV recording of the Jan. 10 meeting is on their YouTube channel, BATV1017. The written minutes from the meeting are available at the cityofbatavia.net/AgendaCenter.

The call for proposals was posted Feb. 21. The RFP is here.

Proposals have been received; however, the final details of the new program have not been selected yet. The city council will discuss the proposals at an upcoming committee of the whole meeting, tentatively scheduled for the April 11 agenda. Visit the cityofbatavia.net/AgendaCenter for updates on meetings and agendas.
