The City's combined sewer systems transports all of its wastewater to our sewage treatment plant, where it is treated and then discharged to the Fox River.
The Carriage Crest Basin has done its job well over the years. Recently with larger than average spring rains the basin has been near full capacity for some months out of the year. The Study will help the City figure out cost effective improvments.
The City of Batavia has been awarded Federal funding through the Kane-Kendall Council of Mayors (KKCOM) for the Prairie Street and Wilson Street Intersection Improvements Project (Stage 2). The City
completed Phase I preliminary Engineering as part of the overall Prairie Street Improvements project in June 2019. Stage 1 (Pine Street to Wilson Street roadwork) construction was completed in December 2020.

The City of Batavia was recently awarded $2,340,000 in Federal Surface Transportation Funds (STP) for the reconstruction of Main Street from Van Nortwick Avenue to Randall Road.
