Work on the Farnsworth Avenue Interchange is beginning this month and is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2017. Construction in 2016 will include removal and reconstruction of the northbound side of the bridge and removal of two ramps carrying traffic from eastbound I-88 to northbound Farnsworth Avenue from northbound Farnsworth Avenue to westbound I-88.
In order to complete this project safely and in a timely manner, lane closures and traffic detours will be put in place throughout the project. Detour routes will be posted as depicted on the enclosed. The lane closures and detours are necessary because the road and ramps are not wide enough to safely maintain current traffic patterns and provide a safe work zone for construction workers and drivers.
In advance of roadway closures signage will be posted to notify the public and information will be posted on the Tollway’s website at http://www.illinoistollway.com.
