Now that the brush collection season is over, any additional brush residents may accumulate over the winter should be stored outside the parkway until the program resumes in the spring. The 2016 collection dates will be publicized on the City of Batavia website next year.
2015 Residential Leaf Collection Program
The leaf collection program has concluded for the season. Residents who may have additional leaves can place them in yard waste bags without stickers, and the bags will be picked up by Advanced Disposal on regularly scheduled refuse collection dates during the month of December. Refer to the City’s website for details about alternate measures that can be used to dispose of your leaves. Please contact the Street Division at 630-454-2400 with any questions.
Batavia Electronics Recycling Site Closing on December 15
The City of Batavia electronics recycling site will permanently close on Tuesday, December 15, and items will no longer be accepted. Kane County offers monthly electronics recycling events for its residents at 540 S. Randall Rd. in St. Charles (Circuit Court Clerk’s Office) on the second Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. The next electronics recycling event is scheduled for Saturday, December 12, and will also include books, document shredding, and latex paint (for a fee). County electronics recycling events are not held in January, February, or March. The City of St. Charles currently offers an electronics recycling drop off location at their Public Works facility, which is located at 1405 S. 7th Ave. in St. Charles. It is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents can visit the Kane County Recycling website for other available options.
