All but a few streets on the west side were collected this week; the remaining west side streets will be done first thing on Monday, November 27, at 6 a.m. We will make one additional pass through both sides of town starting Monday, November 27, at 6 a.m. This extra collection is weather dependent, as our collection process will be greatly delayed or shut down completely if measurable snow occurs; all our staff and trucks used in the leaf collection process are the same used to deal with winter operations. We can’t predict what the weather will do this far in advance, and we want to encourage people to rake their leaves that are already down so we can get as much as possible with the leaf collection equipment. If residents miss the additional collection or winter weather impacts our collection, residents can place leaves only in yard waste bags and put them out on their refuse collection day without a sticker during December.
Collection by Advanced Disposal of yard waste in bags/cans (with sticker) or in prepaid yard waste carts will continue through your last refuse collection the week of November 27 (including December 1 for far west side residents). This will be your last opportunity of the season to dispose of weeds, grass clippings, twigs, ornamental grasses, and perennials.
Refuse collection the week of November 27 will be pushed back one day for residents whose regular day is Thursday or Friday. Wednesday collection will be unaffected.
Please continue to check the website for updates. Daily maps showing our progress are posted on the City’s website during the leaf collection season. If you have any questions, please call 630-454-2400.
