Help Keep Storm Drains Clear

Residents are asked to assist the City by clearing their storm drains of any leaves/buds/flowers/grass that may be covering them. This will help alleviate potential street flooding. Please remember that grass clippings from your mower are not allowed on to the street. Either direct them back into your yard or use a mulching mower. Here is a film for further info: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eIv71M6azQ. We appreciate your assistance.

2019 Ward 1 Storm Sewer Construction

As of June 14, the contractor, Performance Construction, has completed the testing of the new watermain and has begun installation of the water services to each house. Sanitary sewer main construction on Larkspur Lane has now been completed and all services have been reconnected.

The week of June 17 the contractor will make final connections to the existing watermain at Clover Court and will also be installing storm sewer along Chillem between Larkspur and Bluestem. We’re expecting that the watermain connection work at Clover Ct will take place on Tuesday June 18th. There will be a short period where ingress/egress to Clover Ct will be limited while the excavation work is taking place. Please plan accordingly if you need to leave at a specific time of day. For updates on the schedule for this work please contact the Engineering Department at 630-454-2750 or feel free to contact the on-site Project Engineer, Ed Shoop, at 815-355-5260 for the latest construction updates.

Please be aware that the contractor will be trimming some of the tree limbs that overhang into the ROW to allow room for the excavation equipment for the installation of the new large diameter storm sewer and manholes. Trimming helps to prevent inadvertent damage to the tree. Driveway access will be impacted along the east side of Larkspur Lane while the new storm sewer is being installed. You should be receiving a door tag notification at least one day in advance prior to the construction work crossing your driveway.

AT&T is currently relocating their utilities along Bluestem Ln north of Chillem Dr and should be completed sometime in the next few weeks. Comcast will also be relocating utilities along the east and west side of Bluestem Ln just north of Chillem Dr sometime in the next 1-2 weeks.

Please be aware that no on-street parking will be allowed in the construction area along Larkspur Ln, Bluestem Ln, and Chillem Dr. Some equipment and materials will be staged on street and in the parkway on Larkspur Ln, Clover Ct, and Giese Rd. Construction equipment staged on the street will be barricaded off every night. Residents and motorists are advised to expect delays in the area due to construction activities.
