Businesses Open During Construction
Please remember that no businesses are closed due to the Houston Street Project.  The Popcorn Depot, Open Range, Depot Museum, the Professional Building and all the businesses on Island Avenue are all easily accessible at all times, though you may find yourself waling just a bit further for a parking space. Please cross your fingers for continued good work weather.

Houston Street Update

The following is a status update and work scheduled for the week of October 12:
•    Landmark is currently performing the final grading of the roadway in preparation for the asphalt paving scheduled for next Tuesday or Wednesday.
•    Abbey will complete the curb work between tomorrow and Saturday, if necessary. By Saturday, we are expecting Houston Street to be fully curbed and graded for asphalt.
•    Beginning tomorrow and running through all of next week, Landmark will be excavating and installing stone backfill behind the street curbs for the sidewalks.
•    Contractor will begin paving the roadway with the asphalt binder course on 10/13 or 10/14 (it’s likely that it’ll be 10/13).
•    Rainmakers Irrigation will install their valve boxes in the planter islands on 10/15.
•    Thorne Electric will begin installing street light pole foundations on 10/15.
•    Tentatively scheduled to begin pouring concrete sidewalks on 10/16.

Art Stop
The week of October 12th, expect the sidewalk on the east side of Route 25 from Webster to Wilson Street to be closed for removal and replacement of sidewalk and curb, use the sidewalk on the west side as an alternate.  In addition, the driveway entrance to the Art Stop Parking lot will be closed starting Tuesday morning for approximately 14 days while the concrete curb cures.  Alternate City parking is located near Andre’s on the west side of Rt. 25 and at the Baptist Church Parking Lot at the northwest corner of Route 25 & Wilson.

Winter Break for Kane County Recycling
