                                                              i.      Message from Joanne Spitz

Bicycle Commission is working on a Bicycle Friendly Community application and we're working with many groups in Batavia (Chamber, Main St., Park District, city, School, police) to work on this.  I met with Jane Maxwell, who coordinates the Fit For Kids program for Kane County.  She asked if I could help get more groups to sign on in support of this program.  I thought you and the Environmental Commission would be interested.  The city signed this and Jane sent it to the Park District.  They are working closely with our schools, and I was so proud to hear her expound on how wonderful every elementary school in Batavia is, working hard on safe routes to school and Walk to School Day.  Fit for Kids is working to get kids eating smarter/better/healthier, and getting kids more active.  If your commission wants to sign it, please return it to her at 1240 N.
